Pioneering a major city-wide movement requires a commanding presence; we relentlessly pursued every opportunity to capture the hearts and attention of Seattle.
From holiday shopping guides to guerrilla wheat pastings, international sports icons sharing on IG to an official mayoral proclamation; we used every touchpoint at our disposal to bring Black Black Friday to life.

The Message
To spark a movement centering on Black-owned businesses, we knew that Seattle’s Black artistic talent had to take the reins.
That’s why we collaborated with Seattle-based filmmaker Abdul Kassamali and musician LIVt to create an authentic rallying cry that highlights the one-of-a-kind impact Seattle’s Black community and businesses have on the city, every single day.
The Brand
But before we could kick-start the movement, BBF needed a brand. With the holiday season quickly approaching, the mark would need to hold its own in the noisy Seattle landscape, while also being flexible enough to seemlessly work with any other business’ brand.
The People
Once we got the mark, we worked with local artists and businesses to get the word out there. And boy was it out there! Even national celebrities got on board, sharing their favorite local B.O.Bs, or just bringing awareness to the cause.
Developing an appreciation for the past.
